Children & Families
Children are welcome in church life at Millbrook.
During the Sunday service, primary school aged children can go to Sunday School during term time, and children under 5 can use creche all year round.
Children are also very welcome to stay with their parents or carers in the main service. You can choose what feels best for your child on the day.
Sunday School
For primary school aged children.
Sunday School runs during the service in term time. Children usually leave the main service after the first couple of songs, and leaders show them where to go.
Sunday School meets in our cabin beside the community centre.
Creche
For children under 5.
Creche is available during the service all year round. It gives little ones a safe, friendly space to play while parents and carers are able to be present in the service.
First time?
Speak to the welcome team.
If your child has never been to Sunday School before, please speak to our welcome team when you arrive. They will point you towards the Sunday School leaders, who can answer questions, introduce themselves to your child, and help them join in.
What usually happens
Songs, games, Bible stories, and time together.
Sunday School is relaxed and friendly. It gives children space to have fun, interact with others their age, build foundations of faith, and learn about God’s love for them.
Children usually begin by chatting together and sharing about their week.
There are songs, games, and a Bible story from one of the leaders, with children invited to join in.
Some weeks include crafts, worksheets, or other simple activities linked to the story.
If your child is unsure
They can take time to settle.
It is completely normal for children to feel shy, nervous, or unsure in a new place, especially if your family has never been to church before.
Our leaders are there to help children feel safe and comfortable. There is no pressure to join in right away, and leaders will explain what is happening and help your child find their feet.
Care and safeguarding
Your child’s safety matters to us.
All Sunday School leaders are AccessNI checked and have been through relevant safeguarding training. We also have a safeguarding team who are there to protect, care for, and support children and families.
